WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE ASK FOR?

Depending on weather you are a student or a working professional, we may ask you for the following:

Name, Telephone number(s), Email address, current address, parent/guardian name and address, date of birth, gender, nationality, university attending, university course name and dates, university student number, Certificate of registration or Council tax exemption certificate, bank details and a copy of photographic identification.

WHY DO WE WANT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

To ensure that your tenancy is conducted legally and in the best interests of all parties.

WHO MAY WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH?

Leicester City Council, Utility companies, Emergency Services, the landlord of the property, Courts, management software systems, University of Leicester, De Montfort University, your guarantor, Security services, Maintenance contractors working on behalf of Abode Lettings Leicester Ltd and any other professional agencies.

WHY DO WE WANT TO SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

To ensure that utility accounts are kept up to date for your property, to ensure that any emergency or illegal situations that may arise are dealt with efficiently, to ensure that your tenancy is conducted legally and effectively, to process and receive rent and other payments.

HOW LONG WILL WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Your personal data may be kept for up to 6 years due to the code of practice outlined by The Property Ombudsman.

CAN YOU WITHDRAW YOUR PERMISSION?

Yes, you will need to email the allocated data protection officer Caroline Toone ctoone@abodelettingsleicester.com to request this.

I understand that A holding fee of £100 is payable upon completion of this form which will allow us to complete a required credit search and referencing checks. The holding fee will become part of a refundable damage deposit, providing the tenancy proceeds. The remaining balance of the deposit is payable upon signing the tenancy agreement which will be issued once the referencing process is complete, providing that the application is successful.

I understand that The holding fee may not be refunded if:

• I choose not to procced with the tenancy
• I fail the right to rent checks
• I provided misleading information, or where I fail to comply in providing the referencing company with further information required, within 15 days of paying the holding fee.

Please be advised that in some cases we may take more than one application on a property. Abode Lettings Leicester reserve the right to
choose which tenant is more suitable for a property based on the outcome of the referencing. If it is decided that you are not a suitable
applicant for this property, we will refund the full holding fee of £100.

I understand that in order to complete my application, my information will be shared with a credit search/referencing company. I understand and give authorisation, for the credit/search/referencing company to contact me in order to obtain further details required, to complete the application process.
